Welcome to Commons — a calm, high-signal place for creatives to talk shop. Think of it as the back room of Surely + Work: rates, gigs, gear, honest feedback, and work worth sharing, without the noise of a typical feed.
How it works
• Channels: General, Rates, Gigs, Gear, Feedback, Showcase, and Employer. Pick one when you post.
• Sort by Hot, New, or Top. Upvotes lift good things; downvotes only affect ranking — the counts stay hidden, on purpose. We optimise for kindness, not pile-ons.
• Threads are nested, so replies stay readable.
Who can post
• Reading is on us — anyone can browse every thread, free.
• Posting, commenting, voting, and anonymous mode are part of Supporter ($5/mo, billed through your existing Surely + Work account).
• Anonymous mode gives you a stable alias — you keep a reputation across threads without ever showing your name.
• Self-promotion is welcome as long as you flag it (it shows a small amber tag). Honesty over hiding.
One rule above the rest: be kind, be specific. Reports go to a real human curator — nothing here is auto-actioned. Glad you're here.
