About the role

Brand Production Designer (Contract, Hourly) Type: Independent contractor · Hourly $25-$45 per hour DOE · Remote Hours: Variable, project-driven — typically ~5–15 hrs/week, with heavier weeks around launches, drops, and event deadlines Reports to: CMO About the role SAINT is a plant-based hydration brand launching across Southern California specialty retail, owned DTC/ecommerce, and live events. Our brand identity, visual language, and design system already exist. We need a skilled production designer to take that system and turn it into a steady, high-quality flow of market-facing assets. This is a hands-on execution role. You will not be responsible for creative concepting, creative direction, social media management, content strategy, or copywriting. You will be responsible for craft: taking established brand elements, briefs, and reference materials and producing pixel-accurate, print-ready, on-brand deliverables — quickly, consistently, and with very little hand-holding. The right person is a maker who takes real pride in fundamentals: typography, layout, hierarchy, grid discipline, color management, and file hygiene. *What you'll produce* - Web graphics — homepage and Product Detail Page imagery, banners, hero modules, landing page assets, sized and exported to spec. - Social graphics — static posts, story frames, and templated assets built from existing brand elements (note: this role does not run social or develop content ideas). - Email and SMS graphics — headers, modules, product and promo graphics built to campaign specs provided to you. - Packaging and label production — can label adaptations, dielines, flavor variants, secondary packaging, and print-ready files coordinated with printers and co-packers. - Event and field collateral — signage, banners, tabletop and large-format graphics, sell sheets, one-pagers, and graphics for our portable pop-up/booth setup used at trade shows and field activations. - Retail and sales support materials — sell sheets, shelf and case graphics, POS pieces, and buyer-facing collateral. - Merchandise and SWAG — apparel, stickers, and accessory production files prepped to vendor specs. - Template and asset library upkeep — building and maintaining reusable templates so recurring work gets faster over time, and keeping the shared asset library organized, versioned, and correctly named. *What we're looking for* - 3+ years of professional graphic design or production design experience, ideally including in-house or agency work for consumer, CPG, lifestyle, or DTC brands. - A portfolio that demonstrates strong fundamentals — typography, composition, spacing, color, and attention to detail — and range across digital and print. - Expert-level Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) and Figma. - Real print production knowledge: dielines, bleeds, trapping, CMYK vs. spot color, resolution, prepress, and packaging file prep. - Ability to work from an existing design system and stay inside it. - Comfort with high-volume, deadline-driven output and frequent small revisions. - Clear, responsive communication and self-management. You'll be working asynchronously with a small team. - Flexibility on hours. Volume will ebb and flow week to week; we need someone who can scale up for a launch or event push and scale back down between them. *Nice to have* - Video editing — a significant plus. Cutting and assembling short-form edits, adding motion graphics or type treatments to existing footage, and basic sound sync (Premiere, After Effects, or CapCut). - Motion graphics and animated social/web assets. - 3D or product rendering for packaging mockups. - Photo retouching and product photography cleanup. - Experience designing for trade shows or event environments. - Familiarity with beverage or food packaging regulations and label requirements. - Formal degree is welcome but not required. *Engagement terms* - Independent contractor engagement, billed hourly at an agreed rate DOE (depending on experience). Please include your hourly rate with your application. - Hours vary by week based on project needs; there is no guaranteed weekly minimum. - Work is assigned via briefs with defined deliverables and deadlines. Time estimates are expected before larger projects begin. - All work product and IP created under this engagement is owned by SAINT. - Fully remote, with overlap expected during U.S. Pacific business hours for reviews and hand-offs. *Technical requirements* - Computer capable of running Adobe Creative Suite smoothly (minimum 16 GB RAM recommended; Intel i5 / AMD Ryzen 5 / Apple Silicon or better). - Licensed Adobe Creative Suite and Figma access. Internet speed of at least 100 Mbps. - Webcam and headset with microphone for reviews. *To apply* Send your portfolio (or a link), your hourly rate, and your typical weekly availability. Packaging or print-production samples are especially welcome. Thanks!
